How to make a homemade love-coupon book.
The most-used pattern with these certificates isn't a single Valentine — it's a small stack of them, each a different little promise. Print four to six of the same design, fill each one with a different idea ('one back rub, redeemable any night,' 'one breakfast in bed,' 'one chore done without being asked'), then bind them with a ribbon or a single staple in the corner.
The format is forgiving. Be specific about what you're offering. Skip the cliches if they don't fit your relationship. And don't put a dollar amount on it unless one belongs there — most love coupons read better with experiences than with currency.
For a single big-ticket Valentine's gift (dinner reservation, weekend trip, spa day), use one of the framed designs and write the experience on the certificate line. Either way, print on card stock — copy paper crinkles in pockets and envelopes.
