Baseball Senior Night Cards

Free printable baseball senior night cards. Enlarged 3.5×5 framed keepsake for the pre-game presentation, Normal 4-up sheet for the senior's family, plus a Team 9-up the team-mom keeps in the binder. Use what you need — all three sizes are free and print on US Letter card stock.

Baseball senior night usually happens on the last home game of the spring — seniors and their parents walk out before first pitch, presented one at a time on the chalk line between home plate and the dugout. The card sits on a presentation table next to the program and the flowers, in a 5×7 picture frame the team-mom or one of the dads sourced from the dollar store the week before.

Photo choice matters here. Don’t use the team-photo-day portrait (those exist in the yearbook). Use a swing-mid-pitch shot from a real game, or the post-game on-field huddle, or the senior at the mound with the rosin bag. Action photos in late-afternoon outdoor light photograph cleanest on inkjet printers; gym-light shots from indoor batting cages tend to read flat.

What to print

The senior-night card stack — what every parent prints

Three pieces, in this order:

  1. One Enlarged 3.5″ × 5″ card per senior, framed in a 5×7 picture frame. This is the centerpiece — what gets handed to the senior at midfield/midcourt during the pre-game ceremony.
  2. One Normal 4-up sheet per senior, cut into 4 cards. The senior keeps one, hands one each to mom, dad, and a sibling (or grandparents). The cards last forever in a binder sleeve.
  3. One Team 9-up sheet, uncut, slipped into a 9-pocket page in the team binder. Permanent record of the senior class for next year's seniors to look back at.

Total cost per senior: ~$3 in card stock + $1-3 frame from the dollar store. The team-mom usually fronts it and the parents kick in.

Sport-specific notes

Baseball senior night — what we hear from coaches

Three things baseball coaches consistently mention about senior night cards:

  • The framed Enlarged sits on the presentation table. Get the frames matching — five identical $2 black frames look dramatically better than five mismatched garage-sale frames. Senior night photos go on Instagram; the frames are in every shot.
  • Cut the Normal 4-up sheet at home, not at the field. The 4-up cards are for the senior to hand out to family in the stands during the ceremony. Pre-cut and pre-stacked is a kindness.
  • The Team 9-up sheet goes in the team binder NEXT to last year’s. By year three the team-mom has a 9-pocket-page row of past senior classes — a tradition that quietly compounds.

Frequently asked questions

When in the spring season is baseball senior night?
Almost always the last home game of the regular season — late April or early May for high school, early-to-mid May for college. Some teams run senior night two games before the last one so the actual finale is reserved for a possible playoff send-off.
What goes in the 'Position' field for a senior?
Either their primary position (P, SS, OF, C) or a milestone — '4-Year Varsity', 'Captain', 'Pitcher / .380 SR Year'. Some parents put the senior's commit school instead ('Committed: Vanderbilt'). All three read well at the printed size.
Should we print the head coach a card too?
Yes — but for senior night specifically, only if it's their last season too (retirement, moving on). For year-after-year coach gifts, the end-of-season banquet is the more appropriate moment. Senior night should center the seniors.
What size card works best at the ceremony?
The Enlarged 3.5″ × 5″ size is the standard. It slips into a 5×7 picture frame with a small mat — the right balance of presentation-table readable and easy-to-frame. The Normal 2.5×3.5 size is too small for an across-the-gym presentation. The Team 9-up sheet works for the program insert, not the ceremony itself.
How early should we print these?
Two weeks before senior night. That gives you time to re-shoot a photo if it doesn't print well, source frames in team colors, and confirm spelling on every senior's name + position. Cardstock printing has a longer turnaround if your home printer can't handle 100lb stock and you have to use Staples or FedEx Office.
What photo works best?
An action shot from the season — not the team-photo-day portrait. Senior photos already exist in yearbooks; the senior-night card is more powerful when it's a moment from a game (a swing, a play, a save, a finish-line kick). Shot in good light, framed shoulders-up.
