Cheerleading Card Templates

Free printable cheerleading card templates — flyers, bases, backs, spotters, captains. Pick a size, drop in a photo, fill in the position, print. Standard 2.5″ × 3.5″ trading-card size for the squad swap, 3.5″ × 5″ keepsake for senior-night frames, and 9-up sheets for the whole roster.

Cheerleading runs on three seasons in one — football sideline in the fall, basketball sideline in the winter, competition season through the spring. Each season has its own picture day, its own roster, and its own senior-night tradition. The cards cover all three. Print 9-up squad sheets at football try-out time, single Enlarged cards as competition-day keepsakes, and a stack of Normal-size cards for the spring-banquet exchange.

Every position deserves its own card — Flyer, Base, Back Spot, Spotter, Captain, Co-Captain. The Position field on each card is freeform, so anything from "Senior Flyer" to "All-Star Level 4 Base" to "Sideline Captain" fits cleanly. The PDF runs locally in your browser; nothing uploads, no watermark, no account required.

Award ideas by squad role

Recognition that hits — beyond "Best Cheerleader"

Most cheer banquets default to one or two awards (Captain, Most Improved). Squads that use the Enlarged card for season-end recognition tend to spread it around by role. A short list that consistently lands well at the spring banquet:

  • Best Flyer. The crowd-favorite award. Goes to the flyer who hit every stunt clean for the season.
  • Strongest Base. The base who never let her flyer fall. Underrated and almost always invisible to spectators.
  • Best Back Spot. The unsung leader of the stunt group. Calls the count, owns the cradle, picks up the flyer when it goes sideways.
  • Most Improved. The cheerleader who started the season at one skill level and ended at another. Bonus points if it was a stunt position change.
  • Spirit Award. The pure-energy person on the squad. Football game in 25-degree weather, half-empty stands — still bringing it.
  • Tumbling Standout. The squad member who carried the difficulty score in routine.
  • Captain's Award. The captain or co-captain — usually a senior. The Enlarged 3.5″ × 5″ size is what most banquets pair with the gift.
  • Senior Send-Off. One per graduating senior. Print these as a set in matching team colors and frame them all together for the squad room.

Frequently asked questions

Can I make different cards for flyers, bases, and back spots?
Yes — that's the most popular use. Each card has a Position field that you fill in per cheerleader. Most squads print "Flyer", "Base", "Back Spot", or "Spotter" directly. Some add the level or stunt group ("Level 4 Flyer", "Stunt Group A Base"). The card design itself doesn't change by position; the field text does.
Will these work for both school cheer and all-star (competition) cheer?
Yes. School cheer squads use them for football and basketball season rosters and senior night. All-star competition gyms use them for team rosters at Worlds / Summit / NCA / UCA Nationals. The Position field accepts skill level ("Level 5 Senior Coed", "Level 4 Junior", "Worlds Team"). The Team field works for the gym name ("Cheer Athletics", "Top Gun", "Stingrays").
Can I print these on glittery paper or with sparkles?
The PDF prints on whatever paper you put in the printer. Glittery card stock works (the toner sits on top of the glitter); pearlescent stock looks great for the senior-night Enlarged size. For competition-team gym branding, matte card stock with the team color in the Split Halves design reads the most polished.
Are these free for school squads to use?
Yes. School squads, all-star gyms, rec leagues, Pop Warner sideline squads — anyone can use them, no commercial restriction for school or club use. No account, no email, no watermark. The PDF saves directly to your computer.
