Softball is the sport that runs on parent volunteers — the rec coach is somebody's dad, the team mom is somebody's mom, the umpire is the dad of last year's pitcher. The trading cards reflect that: they're meant to be made by the team mom on a Sunday afternoon and handed out at the next practice. Use the team field for the league name ("Lakeside 12U Gold", "Spartans Fastpitch", "Riverside Rec Coed"), use the position field for the assignment (P, C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, RF, UT, DP/Flex), and use the photo from picture day or the action shot from last weekend's bracket.

Card-day kit: what the dugout actually needs
Every softball team has a Sunday-afternoon volunteer who runs the team-mom logistics. The card prints are usually her job. A short kit that lands well at most leagues:
- One photo per girl, all the same orientation. Either everyone in batting stance or everyone in fielding pose — mixed orientations make the team sheet look messy. Picture-day photos are easiest because they're already standardized.
- One team sheet for the dugout door. 9-up roster, names + positions visible. Helps subs and umpires keep the lineup straight.
- A stack of Normal cards for trade days. Travel-ball weekends include three to four games against different teams; girls trade cards between games. Print 60+ cards per team for a typical Saturday-Sunday tournament.
- One Enlarged 3.5″ × 5″ for the coach. The coach gets the big one, with "Manager" or "Coach" in the position field. Hand it to him at the end-of-season banquet. The girls sign the back.
- Color-match the team color. If the jerseys are royal blue, use a navy + white Split Halves design. The Classic banner with the team color in the eyebrow band reads well too.
- Continuous-batting-order leagues: leave Position blank or write "Bats Everywhere". Don't shoehorn rec girls into a P/C/SS box — half of them play four positions a season.
