Printing

How to print a 5 x 7 Halloween invitation at home

The two-per-sheet PDF is the home route: print it on letter-size card stock at 100% (no “fit to page”), double-sided, flipping on the short edge, then cut on the crop marks. Two 5 x 7 cards come off each sheet. For a single card use the 5 x 7 PDF on 5 x 7 stock, or print it on letter paper and trim.

Every design is drawn on light paper, with the spooky mood carried by the art and the type rather than a black background. That is deliberate: a stack of twenty invitations should not empty an ink cartridge. For a mono laser printer or a school copier, switch to the Black & White palette under Colors.

For a print shop or an online printer, send the print shop PNGs: 1575 x 2175 pixels is 5 x 7 inches plus an eighth-inch bleed at 300 dpi. To send it instead of printing it, the text-or-email PNG is sized for a phone screen and works as an email attachment or a group-chat image.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Halloween invitation maker free?
Yes. Every design and every download (PDF, PNG and Word) is free, with no watermark, no account and no email address.
Is there a Word version?
Yes. Every design downloads as a Word file as well as PDFs and PNGs, so you can finish it in Microsoft Word, or open it in Google Docs or Pages.
Can I print it in black and white?
Yes. Every design has a Black & White palette under Colors, made for mono printers and school or office copiers. The black-and-white page shows the whole collection in it.
Can I add a photo?
Yes, on the seven designs with a photo window, including the gender reveal, the Halloween wedding, the first-birthday and the ofrenda designs. Drop in the picture and drag it into place.
Can I send it by text for a digital invitation?
Yes. Every design downloads as a phone-sized PNG to text, email or post in a group chat.
Will printing a stack use a lot of ink?
No. Halloween cards are usually black; these are drawn on light paper, with the spooky mood in the art and the type, so twenty invitations print at home without draining the cartridge.
