Puzzle maker FAQ

What photos make good jigsaw puzzles?
Detail and color variety are what make pieces distinguishable. Landscapes, group photos, pets mid-mischief, travel shots, and busy scenes cut into satisfying puzzles; a clear blue sky or a plain wall becomes forty identical-looking pieces (which is its own kind of fun, if you're that person). Anything from about 640×480 up works — a normal phone photo is far more than enough, and the maker's zoom lets you crop in on the interesting part.
How does sharing my puzzle actually work?
Playing needs no upload at all — the puzzle is cut and played entirely in your browser. When you click Create share link, the cropped puzzle picture is uploaded so your friend's browser has something to load, and you get a link carrying the exact photo, piece count, cut, and even the same piece shapes (the cut is seeded). Links last about 30 days, then the picture is swept and the link politely expires.
Can my friend change the piece count on the puzzle I send?
Yes. The link opens with exactly what you chose — your crop, your piece count, your cut — but the toolbar is theirs: they can re-cut the same photo to more or fewer pieces, switch between Classic and Standard cuts, or hit Solve and watch it assemble if they're feeling defeated. The photo itself is the only fixed part. Rematch rules are between the two of you.
What's the difference between the Classic and Standard cuts?
Standard cuts every tab the same — centered, uniform, clean; it reads like a machine-cut puzzle and scans quickly at lower piece counts. Classic randomizes every tab's position, width, and bulb like a die-cut cardboard puzzle, so every piece silhouette is unique — harder, and more like the real thing. More cut styles are on the roadmap; the engine was built to take them.
