What easy means here

Why these easy sudoku puzzles never need a guess

Most sites grade by how many numbers are given. This generator grades by the hardest technique a human needs: an easy puzzle is one the solver finishes with naked singles (a cell with one legal digit) and hidden singles (a digit with one legal cell in a row, column or box). If the generator's grader ever needed locked candidates or a pair to finish, the puzzle is re-rated Medium and never lands on this page.

That is the difference between an easy puzzle and a merely full one. Two grids can both show 38 givens and play very differently; a give-away count says nothing about whether a beginner will get stuck at cell 60. Beginner, one tier below Easy, is the same singles-only logic with more numbers filled in, which suits a first-ever puzzle or a child moving up from a 6×6.

Who prints easy

Easy sudoku for classrooms, waiting rooms and first-timers

Teachers print the six-per-page pack for early finishers and sub plans because 24 puzzles cover a week of five-minute warm-ups on four sheets. Activity coordinators use the large-print pack for the same reason bowling-league secretaries use big score sheets: a pen fits, and nobody squints. If you are learning, work the singles-only puzzles until you can finish one without pencil marks, then move to medium sudoku, where locked candidates first appear.

Every puzzle carries its id under the grid (an E followed by a seed number), so a solution page can always be matched to its puzzle and a favourite sheet can be printed again from the same PDF. The how to play sudoku page walks through the two scanning moves these puzzles are built on.

Questions

Easy sudoku questions

Is an easy sudoku the same as a beginner sudoku?
Close cousins. Both solve with singles only, so no guessing and no pencil marks. Beginner starts with more numbers filled in, which shortens the puzzle; Easy leaves more cells open but still never needs a technique beyond scanning. Pick Beginner for a very first puzzle, Easy for the second week.
How many easy puzzles are in the PDF pack?
24 puzzles on four pages, six per page, followed by the answer keys. The large-print pack holds six puzzles at one per page. Both are generated on this site, single-solution verified, and free to photocopy.
How long should an easy sudoku take?
Ten to twenty minutes for someone who has done a handful; under ten for a regular. If an easy puzzle is taking an hour, you are probably guessing instead of scanning, which is the one habit to break early.
Can I get easy sudoku six per page for a class?
Yes. The pack above is already six per page, and the generator preset here prints six per page too. For a whole-class set with the largest cells that still fit six, keep answers on and print the key pages once for the teacher.
Do the easy puzzles come with answers?
Every pack and every generator PDF ends with solution grids labelled with the same id as the puzzle, so checking is a glance. Untick the answer-key box in the generator if you want puzzle pages only.
