Vintage Recipe Card Templates

The recipe cards that look like they came out of a grandmother's tin box — and a few that look like they came out of a 1962 kitchen. Old-fashioned roses with a double border, a hand-drawn 1950s kitchen of stand mixers and lattice pies on aged cream paper, retro mid-century geometry, and farmhouse gingham. Print it right

Make it look old on purpose.

  1. Print on cream or ivory cardstock (80–110 lb) rather than bright white — the aged-paper look does half the work.
  2. For hand-written cards, use the blank PDF at Actual Size on 4×6 or 3×5 index stock; a fountain pen or fine felt-tip reads right.
  3. For typed cards, the Word and Docs versions use a serif title — keep it, and drop the sample note line if you don’t need it.
  4. Store them in a real tin or wooden recipe box; the 3×5 files are cut for the classic box, 4×6 for the newer ones.

What paper makes a recipe card look vintage?
Cream or ivory cardstock, 80–110 lb. The designs already carry aged-paper tones, so off-white stock finishes the effect; bright white photo paper makes them look new.
