Academic awards

Honor Roll

The classic grades-based recognition. Most schools split it into A Honor Roll (all A's) and A/B Honor Roll — retype the wordmark field after download if you need the split versions.

Star Reader

Works as a milestone award (books read, reading level reached) or an enthusiasm award. One of the few academic awards that lands equally well in kindergarten and fifth grade.

Math Achievement

Give it for mastery, or for the student who finally cracked a concept they'd been fighting all year — the body text covers both readings.

Science Award

Curiosity and careful observation are the criteria, which lets it go to the best question-asker in the room, not just the best test-taker.

Star Writer

Subject awards — art, science fair, spelling, PE

Art Award

Science Fair Award

Judge on the question, the fairness of the test, and the honesty of the conclusion — not the poster. Print one per placing, or one per category (Physical Science, Life Science, Engineering) with the custom title.

Preschool and kindergarten award certificates

Effort and character awards land better than rankings at this age: Kindness Award, Outstanding Effort, Star Reader for a first sight-word list, and Certificate of Completion for the end of the year. Elementary school award certificates (K–5)

How to run an end-of-year awards day

The single most important decision is made before you print anything: every student gets an award. An awards day where five kids collect everything teaches the other twenty that recognition isn’t for them. The fix is planning awards from the roster, not from the award list — start with your class list and assign each student the honor that fits them, rather than starting with “who gets Honor Roll?”

Two practical notes. First, print a couple of blanks — someone always gets missed, and the supporting text on the PDF is editable, so a blank plus a pen fixes it on the spot.
