Free Executive Resume Templates — CEO, CFO, COO & the C-Suite
Free, ATS-friendly executive resume templates in Microsoft Word and Google Docs, built for how boards and search firms read at the top — for scope, judgment, and value created. Each leads with a brand-statement summary (never an objective), a scope-of-leadership band (revenue, EBITDA, headcount, geographies), and selected career highlights, in a refined display-serif voice with serif numerals for gravitas. Nine C-suite archetypes — CEO, CFO, COO, founder, CRO, board director, CIO, CTO, and CMO — in three colors each (27 templates), with guidance for CHRO, VP, and president candidacies too.
Nine C-suite designs, each in three colors.
One design per executive archetype — CEO, CFO, COO, founder/startup CEO, CRO, board director, CIO, CTO, and CMO — in neutral, deeper, and refined accent options so every template stays boardroom-appropriate. All open in Word or Google Docs and are built to be ATS-friendly, with editable scope numbers in place of charts.
Executive resume templates by role.
Pick the design that matches your seat. Each is built around the scope and vocabulary that boards and executive recruiters screen for in that role.
CEO Resume Template
The CEO resume template leads with a brand-statement summary and a scope band — revenue led, EBITDA growth, headcount, and countries — then selected career highlights. It fits a first-time CEO, startup CEO, or nonprofit CEO, and reads cleanly for president and managing-director candidacies too.
COO Resume Template
The COO resume template foregrounds enterprise scope — P&L owned, employees, sites, and acquisitions integrated — for chief operating officers and operations executives. Use it for transformation, margin-expansion, and M&A-integration narratives at multi-site scale.
CFO Resume Template
The CFO resume template centers a value-created row — IPO valuation, capital raised, M&A closed, margin in basis points. Built for finance executives who own capital markets, fundraising, investor relations, and fiduciary oversight (audit-committee ready).
CMO Resume Template
The CMO resume template runs marketing as a growth function — marketing budget, brand lift, pipeline sourced, and team — for chief marketing officers and VPs of marketing leading brand, demand generation, and category creation.
CIO Resume Template
The CIO resume template shows enterprise IT scope — budget, users served, uptime, and global team — with digital-transformation, cloud, and cybersecurity highlights. It adapts for a CISO resume or IT-executive candidacy.
CTO Resume Template
The CTO resume template leads with engineering-org and platform scale — engineers led, requests per day, uptime, and patents. For chief technology officers, startup CTOs, and VPs of engineering who set the technical vision.
Founder & Startup CEO Resume Template
The founder resume template uses a funding-to-exit timeline — Seed, Series A–C, acquisition — for entrepreneurs and venture-backed CEOs leading with capital raised, ARR scale, and a successful exit.
CRO Resume Template
The chief revenue officer resume template owns the full go-to-market — ARR growth, net revenue retention, pipeline coverage, and GTM team — for CROs and SVPs of sales building durable, predictable revenue.
Board of Directors Resume Template
The board of directors resume template is a governance document, not a job application — a board bio with a boards roster (company, role, tenure) and governance expertise (audit, risk, CEO succession, executive compensation, ESG). Use it for a first board seat, an independent-director search, or a nonprofit board.
CHRO & VP HR Resume Template
For a CHRO resume or VP of HR resume, adapt the COO or CEO layout: lead with people-strategy scope (workforce, executive compensation, board people-committee) in the scope band and reframe the highlights around talent and culture outcomes.
VP, SVP, President & Senior Executive Resume Template
For a VP, SVP, EVP, president, managing director, or general manager resume, start from the CEO or COO design — both carry the brand-statement summary, scope band, and selected highlights that a senior-executive resume needs to show multi-function ownership and enterprise judgment.
How an executive resume differs from a manager resume.
A manager or director resume lists responsibilities. A C-suite resume proves enterprise judgment and value created — in the language of the boardroom. Put these where a director or search firm will see them first:
- A brand-statement summary, not an objective. Two or three lines that position you — the value you create and the scale you operate at — not what you’re looking for.
- A scope-of-leadership band. Revenue, EBITDA margin, P&L owned, headcount, market cap, sites, and geographies — labeled so magnitude reads at a glance. This is the single biggest signal at the top.
- Value creation, named exactly. M&A and integration deal sizes, capital raised, Series A–D and IPO milestones, turnaround or growth multiples, and governance — the boardroom vocabulary a director resume wouldn’t carry.
- Boards & executive education. Board and committee service, fiduciary roles, and your MBA or equivalent — outcomes, not tools.
This page is the executive hub; the functional pages are the mid-level spokes. If your role is functional rather than enterprise-scope, see financial analyst, operations manager, marketing, or human resources.
Fill it in and apply.
- Click Open in Google Docs to copy it into your Drive, or Download Word for the
.docx. - Replace the brand-statement summary and the scope band with your real numbers — revenue, EBITDA, P&L, headcount, M&A, capital raised.
- Keep the boardroom vocabulary exact (P&L, EBITDA, governance, Series A–D, IPO) so an ATS and a search firm both read your scope clearly.
- Run it to two pages if you have the M&A, global, or board history to justify it; export a PDF to send and a Word copy for ATS portals.
