The number that became a standard
5160 is the address label sheet that everything else is measured against. It has been in stationery cupboards long enough that the number is used as a size rather than a product — people say “5160s” the way they say A4, and half the label sheets sold by other brands describe themselves as 5160-compatible rather than by their own dimensions.
Practically, that means the grid below is the safest bet you can make. If the box in your drawer says 30 per sheet and the labels measure an inch tall, this template fits it, whatever brand name is on the packaging.

Do I need Microsoft Word to use a 5160 template?
No. That is the main reason this page exists. The maker above runs in your browser and hands you a finished PDF, so there is no Word document to open, no template to fight with, and no risk of the layout re-flowing when a different printer driver gets hold of it.
Is 5160 the same as 8160?
Same sheet, different printer. 5160 is the laser version and 8160 is the inkjet one — identical grid, identical label size, different face stock and adhesive. A PDF built for one prints correctly on the other, so use whichever box is in front of you.
Why does the Word 5160 template print off by a fraction?
Word re-flows a document based on the printer driver and default paper size of the machine that opens it, so a template that was correct when it was made can shift on somebody else's computer. A PDF fixes the geometry at the moment it is created, which is why we generate one rather than handing you a .doc.
How many sheets do I need for 100 addresses?
