Any age

From a first birthday to a ninetieth.

Six designs are drawn for a specific stage of life rather than for birthdays in general — because the card you hand a six-year-old is not the card you hand someone turning eighty.

First Birthday
A number-one cake with a crowned baby reaching for it. The one that ends up in the album.
Sweet Sixteen
Sparkler candles over a two-tier cake with a disco ball. Drawn for a teenager, not a toddler.
Another Big One
Big double-digit number candles on a sheet cake — the all-purpose grown-up birthday.
Golden Year
A gold-iced cake with a glass of wine and a pocket watch. Quiet rather than loud.
Another Year Brighter
A smiling star over a wrapped gift, on deep navy. Reads well with an age on the plate.
Many Happy Returns
A rocking chair, tea, and a knitted gift — drawn for a grandparent's birthday. Ink-light.
The name plate takes an age, not just a name. For a big milestone — an 80th, a 90th, a 95th — type the age itself rather than the person’s name and the bookmark becomes the party favor for the whole room. “90th” fits comfortably. So does “Grandma”. Print one design filled across the sheet and you have a matched set for every guest.
Beyond the party

For the classroom, the church, and the flower delivery.

Not every birthday bookmark is for a party bag. Three groups of designs cover the rest of it.

Teachers tend to want one bookmark to hand a child on their actual birthday, all year round. The cupcake, the party hat and the rainbow cake are the ones that work for any age in the room, and printing thirty at the start of term costs about one sheet of card stock a month.

Churches and Sunday schools get Birthday Blessing — an open Bible with a birthday candle and a dove. If one scripture design is not enough, the Bible collection linked below has twenty more, and the name field works exactly the same way on those.

And for a birthday that is not a party at all there are two quieter designs: a wrapped bouquet with a gift tag, and a potted plant with butterflies. Those are the ones people tuck into a book they are giving as the actual present, which is arguably what a bookmark was always for.

Birthday questions

Before you print.

Can I put the birthday person's name on the bookmark?

Yes — that is the whole point of the name field, and it is what makes these work as personalized birthday favors rather than generic clip art. Type a name on each bookmark, or type the age: '90th' and '50' sit on the plate just as comfortably as 'Ellie'. Keep it to about a dozen characters; a name plus a whole message will run past the edge. If you want a longer note, write it on the back of the card stock.

How do people actually use these as party favors?

Three ways, in rough order of popularity. One per goody bag, which is the cheapest favor in the bag and the only one that does not end up in a drawer. One on each place setting as a name card the guest takes home — print the guest's name rather than the birthday child's. Or a mixed sheet in a basket by the door so everyone picks their own. For a class party, Fill sheet gives you four identical bookmarks per sheet, so twenty-eight children is seven sheets.

Do you have Christian birthday bookmarks?

One in this set: Birthday Blessing, an open Bible with a birthday candle and a dove carrying an olive branch. If you want more scripture-led designs, the Bible collection has twenty Bible-story bookmarks — Noah's Ark, the lost sheep, the star over Bethlehem — and you can put the birthday person's name on any of those too, which is what most Sunday-school teachers end up doing.

Are these birthday bookmark coloring pages?

No. These print in full color and are ready to cut — there is no black-and-white line-art version to color in. We are saying so plainly because 'birthday bookmark coloring pages' is a common search and this is not that. Five of the designs do print on pale backgrounds and use much less ink, which is the closest thing we have to a light version and the right pick for a big batch.

Are the bookmarks double-sided?

No — the PDF prints one side only, and the back comes out blank. That is deliberate, and it is useful: the blank back is where you write the long message that would not fit on the name plate, or a note from the whole class. If you genuinely want art on both sides, print the sheet twice and glue the two backs together, which also gives you a sturdier bookmark.

Are the birthday bookmarks free to print?

Completely free — no account, no email, no watermark, nothing locked behind a signup. The PDF is built by your own browser, which means the names you type stay on your computer and never reach us.
