Planning tip
The party is where the family gets thanked too. The samples keep it relaxed: Cookout, cornhole and a cake for the hero, and Bring a story and an appetite. A photo in uniform on the front and a family photo at the party makes a good pair.
How it works

Details, wording, colors, download

Open any design above in the maker. Each of these designs has a photo window: drop in a picture and drag it until it sits where you want it. Type the rank and full name (long ranks fit on two lines) and the years of service; the back carries the date, the place, the reception and the dress or access line. Branch names are typed as text; the art carries no seals or insignia.

Pick one of the three palettes drawn for the design, then download a 5 x 7 PDF (front and back), a two-per-sheet letter PDF for home printing, print-shop PNGs with bleed, 4 x 6 PNGs for a photo counter, a phone-sized PNG to text or email, or a Word file. For more lines to put on the card, see the retirement invitation wording ideas and the retirement party etiquette guide.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between the ceremony and the party?
The ceremony is formal, often on an installation, with remarks and presentations. The party is the celebration afterward, at home or a hall. Many families send one card for each; the Retirement Ceremony family has the formal designs.
Which military designs take a photo?
Both of these: Welcome Home (portrait) and Retired & Ready (landscape).
Is the challenge coin a real unit coin?
No. It's a blank coin shape with no emblem, so the card suits any unit or branch.
