Avery 5877 Laser Clean Edge Cards

The workhorse of the Clean Edge line: Avery 5877 pairs smooth die-cut edges with laser-rated 91 lb stock and sells 400 cards to the box — twice the inkjet pack, at office-supply pricing. If your printer is a laser machine, this is the number to buy; the builder below makes the PDF that fills it, ten cards per sheet, free and in your browser.

Focus any form field on the left to see where it lands on the card. The final PDF prints 10 identical cards on one US Letter sheet (Avery 5371 and family).
Print options
For perfect Avery alignment
In your printer dialog, set Scale = 100% (Actual Size), paper = US Letter, orientation = Portrait. Do not pick “Fit to Page” or “Shrink to Fit” — those scale the sheet by a few percent and throw off the cuts. Print one test page on plain paper first and hold it up against an Avery sheet to confirm the cards line up.

Common 5877 questions

Frequently asked questions

Who is Avery 5877 for?
Laser-printer owners who want smooth-edged cards in quantity. It's the laser-rated Clean Edge stock — 91 lb (247 GSM) matte white, two-sided printable, die-cut edges with no perforation bumps — sold as 400 cards on 40 sheets, double the count of the inkjet 8871 box. Office laser printer plus a 5877 box is the cheapest per-card route to professional-feeling cards.
Laser vs inkjet Clean Edge — does the stock really matter?
It does. Laser printers fuse toner with heat; inkjet lays down liquid ink. The coatings are different — laser stock tolerates fuser heat, inkjet stock absorbs ink without bleeding. Run inkjet stock through a laser machine and the coating can soften; run laser stock through an inkjet and ink can smear. 5877 for laser, 8871 for inkjet, same template either way.
Does the builder handle a 400-card run?
The PDF is one 10-card sheet — your printer handles the quantity. Set copies to 40 and you've filled the box. For long runs on laser, print 10–15 sheets at a time and let the stack cool; a hot output tray can cause sheets to curl slightly before the toner fully sets.
Can I print the backs too?
Yes — 5877 is two-sided. For a 400-card run it's worth doing a duplex test on two sheets first: laser duplexing alignment varies more between printer models than inkjet, and you want the back's orientation confirmed before committing 40 sheets.
