Type it, print it, cut it.

Download the .docx and open it in Word (2010 through Microsoft 365, Windows or Mac). The card is one 4×6 page with the art behind the text.
Click the sample recipe and type over it — name, servings, prep and cook time, ingredients on the left, directions on the right. Delete the note line if you don’t need it.
4×6 file: print on 4×6 index cards or photo paper at Actual Size. Letter file: print on cardstock and cut across the middle for two cards.
Save the file with the recipe name — one Word file per recipe makes a searchable recipe box on your computer too.

Word recipe card FAQ

Is there a recipe card template in Word?

Word itself ships only a couple of generic card layouts in its template gallery and none are 4×6 recipe cards. The eight files on this page are proper Word documents built as 4×6 pages with an art frame behind editable text — download one and you're typing into a finished card.

How do I make a 4×6 recipe card in Word?

Start from one of these files rather than a blank page: the page size is already 4×6 (landscape), the margins clear the art frame, and the ingredients/directions table is in place. If you want to build your own, use Layout → Size → More Paper Sizes to set 6 × 4 inches, then insert a two-column table for ingredients and directions.

How do I print two recipe cards on one page in Word?

Use the two-per-letter-sheet version of each theme — two 4×6 cards stacked on an 8.5×11 page, both editable. Print on cardstock at Actual Size and cut once across the middle. Printing the single 4×6 file at '2 pages per sheet' also works but shrinks the cards.

Can I change the fonts and colors?

Yes — it's a normal Word document. The title and headings use the theme's accent color; select any text and restyle it. The art frame is a picture behind the text, so it stays where it is unless you deliberately select and move it.

Will these open in Google Docs or Pages?

Yes. Every theme has a native Google Docs version linked on each card (no upload needed), and the .docx opens in Apple Pages and LibreOffice with the background image and table intact.
