Hosting tip
Ask guests to write a short note inside the front cover of the book they bring, with their name and the date. The baby ends up with a library of signed books, and the parents don't need a stack of cards that get recycled.
How it works

Details, wording, colors, download

Open any design above in the maker. Type who is honored, the date and the place; the back has room for the line a storybook shower needs, such as "Bring your favorite children's book instead of a card". Tutu and princess designs lean girl and Little Man leans boy; the rest come in girl, boy and neutral palettes.

Pick the girl, boy or neutral palette drawn for the design (the badge follows it), then download a 5 x 7 PDF (front and back), a two-per-sheet letter PDF for home printing, print-shop PNGs with bleed, 4 x 6 PNGs for a photo counter, a phone-sized PNG or a Word file. For more lines to put on the card, see the baby shower invitation wording ideas and the etiquette guide.

Frequently asked questions

How do I word "bring a book instead of a card"?
Keep it short, on the back note: the samples read "Bring your favorite children's book instead of a card". The wording picker in the maker has other versions, and the baby shower wording page has more.
What if two guests bring the same book?
It happens with the classics, and it's fine: one copy can live at a grandparent's house. To avoid it, add a line like "Write your name in it, and tell us why you love it", which makes even a duplicate personal.
Board books or picture books?
Both. Board books survive chewing and suit the first year; picture books are for later. A mix gives the parents something to read from day one.
