Hosting tip
Guests often bring the host a bag of tangerines or oranges, whose names sound like luck and gold in Chinese; the Fortune Coin sample asks for them ("Bring tangerines for luck"). Give fruit and gifts in even numbers, and skip sets of four, since four sounds like the word for death.
How it works

Details, wording, colors, download

Open any design above in the maker. Type the family or friends as hosts, the date and the address; the back carries the details and one line such as "Wear red for good luck" or "Bring tangerines to share". Lunar New Year 2027 falls on Saturday, February 6, and the Lantern Festival on Saturday, February 20.

Pick one of the three palettes drawn for the design, then download a 5 x 7 PDF (front and back), a two-per-sheet letter PDF for home printing, print-shop PNGs with bleed, 4 x 6 PNGs for a photo counter, a phone-sized PNG or a Word file. For more lines to put on the card, see the New Year’s invitation wording ideas.

Frequently asked questions

Should I say Chinese New Year or Lunar New Year?
Either is right for your own party. Lunar New Year includes the Vietnamese, Korean and other communities who celebrate at the same time, which is why the samples use it, but the headline is editable, so type Chinese New Year or Spring Festival if that's what your family says.
Why ask guests to wear red?
Red is the color of luck and celebration at the new year, and many families wear it, often with new clothes, to start the year well. The Golden Fortune sample asks on the back: "Wear red for good luck".
