For perfect Avery alignment
In your printer dialog, set Scale = 100% (Actual Size), paper = US Letter, orientation = Portrait. Do not pick “Fit to Page” or “Shrink to Fit” — those scale the sheet by a few percent and throw off the cuts. What's special about Avery 8859?
It's the glossy option: a photo-quality glossy front with a matte printable back, on 83 lb (227 GSM) Clean Edge stock — the only glossy finish in Avery's 2″ × 3.5″ 10-per-sheet lineup. A box is 200 cards on 20 sheets. If your card leans on a photo or rich color — real estate headshots, photography, food — gloss is what makes it pop.
Does the standard 10-up template fit 8859?
The card grid is dimensionally identical — 2″ × 3.5″ cards, 10 per US Letter sheet — so the PDF from this builder prints onto 8859 at 100% scale just like the rest of the family. Note that Avery files 8859 under its own template family rather than the 5371 list, so if you use Avery's own software you'd pick the 8859 template there; with our PDF the geometry is the same either way.
Which printers handle glossy stock well?
8859 is inkjet-optimized — the glossy coating is built to absorb inkjet ink like photo paper. Use your printer's photo or best-quality mode for the front. The back is matte specifically so contact details print crisply without gloss glare (and so you can write on it).
Any printing gotchas with gloss?
Two: drying time and fingerprints. Give glossy fronts a few minutes before stacking — glossy coatings hold ink on the surface longer than matte. And handle fresh sheets by the edges; the coating shows fingerprints until fully dry. Otherwise it's the same 100%-scale, US Letter, no-fit-to-page routine as every sheet in the family.
