Frequently asked questions

Which holidays are marked?
All ten Irish public holidays — New Year's Day, St Brigid's Day, St Patrick's Day, Easter Monday, the May, June, August and October bank holidays, Christmas Day and St Stephen's Day. When Christmas, St Stephen's Day, New Year's Day or St Patrick's Day falls on a weekend, the calendar also marks the weekday generally observed in lieu.
How does the St Brigid's Day holiday work?
St Brigid's Day became Ireland's tenth public holiday in 2023 — the first public holiday named for a woman. It falls on the first Monday of February, except when 1 February happens to be a Friday, in which case the holiday is Friday 1 February itself. The calendar computes the right day automatically each year.
Is the October bank holiday the first or last Monday?
The last Monday of October — the Halloween/Samhain weekend. (The May, June and August bank holidays are all first Mondays; October is the odd one out, and plenty of calendars get it wrong.)
Can I type events straight into the PDF?
Yes. Open it in Adobe Reader, Preview, Chrome, Firefox or any mobile PDF viewer, click a date and the box becomes a text field. Type your event, then save — no paid software needed.
What paper size does it use?
It prints cleanly on both A4 and US Letter, so any printer in Ireland works. Choose portrait or landscape before generating.
Is it free?
Yes — free for personal, family, school or office use, no signup, no watermark. Print as many as you like.
