🇿🇦 The Sunday rule is built in. When a public holiday lands on a Sunday, South African law makes the following Monday a holiday too — the calendar marks both days automatically, so long weekends never catch you by surprise.

Frequently asked questions

Which holidays are marked?
All twelve South African public holidays under the Public Holidays Act — New Year's Day, Human Rights Day, Good Friday, Family Day, Freedom Day, Workers' Day, Youth Day, National Women's Day, Heritage Day, the Day of Reconciliation, Christmas Day and the Day of Goodwill. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the calendar also marks the following Monday as the observed public holiday, exactly as the Act provides.
Why does an extra Monday holiday appear some years?
South African law says that whenever a public holiday falls on a Sunday, the Monday after it is also a public holiday. The calendar computes this automatically — for example National Women's Day (Sunday 9 August 2026) is followed by an observed holiday on Monday 10 August. Note the rule applies to Sundays only; a holiday on a Saturday does not move.
Are one-off holidays like election days included?
No — those are proclaimed by the President for a specific date and can't be computed in advance. If one is announced, write it into the fillable box for that day. The twelve annual holidays and their Monday observations are always marked.
Can I type events straight into the PDF?
Yes. Open it in Adobe Reader, Preview, Chrome, Firefox or any mobile PDF viewer, click a date and the box becomes a text field. Type your event, then save — no paid software needed.
What paper size does it use?
It prints cleanly on both A4 and US Letter, so any printer in South Africa works. Choose portrait or landscape before generating.
Is it free?
Yes — free for personal, family, school or office use, no signup, no watermark. Print as many as you like.
