Two sheets, eight pages

4 Funeral Booklet Templates with 8 Pages

An eight-page funeral booklet is two US Letter sheets, each printed on both sides, nested one inside the other and folded. It gives a full page to the life story, a page for extra photos, and room for a longer order of service. The hard part of any booklet is getting the pages in the right order for printing, and these templates have that done already.

Sheet two, front: pages 6 and 3

Page by page

What is on each of the eight pages

  1. Front cover with photo, name, dates and service details.
  2. The life story or obituary, with a full page to itself.
  3. The order of service.
  4. Treasured Memories: two more photo frames.
  5. A psalm, poem or reading.
  6. Pallbearers, interment and reception.
  7. The family’s thank-you and a closing verse.
  8. Back cover with a short verse between ornaments.

Rearrange freely: every page is a table cell, so you can cut the contents of one and paste them into another. If you do not need the photo page, use it for a second reading or the words of a hymn that is in the public domain.

Print, nest, staple

How to assemble the booklet

  1. Print pages 1 and 2 of the file on the two sides of one sheet (two-sided, flip on short edge). This is the outer sheet.
  2. Print pages 3 and 4 on a second sheet the same way. This is the inner sheet.
  3. Lay the outer sheet cover-side down and place the inner sheet on top with the Treasured Memories photo page facing up on the left.
  4. Fold both together and staple twice on the fold. A long-reach stapler does this neatly; a copy shop will do it for a few cents a copy.

Make one complete booklet and turn every page before printing the full run. The file’s pages are deliberately out of reading order, with page 8 beside page 1, so that they fall into sequence once nested.

Questions families ask

Why are the pages out of order in the file?
Because that is how a booklet has to be printed. When two sheets are nested and folded, the back cover shares a sheet with the front cover, page 2 with page 7, and so on. The template is arranged so that plain two-sided printing produces a booklet that reads 1 through 8.
Can I make the booklet longer than eight pages?
Booklets grow four pages at a time, one sheet per step. For twelve pages you would add a third sheet in the middle. That means re-ordering pages by hand, so if you need more than eight, a copy shop’s booklet-printing setting is the easier route.
Do I need special paper?
No. Ordinary Letter paper works. A 28 or 32 lb sheet keeps the reverse side from showing through, and some families use a light cardstock for the outer sheet only.
