Programa Fúnebre en Español Program
Every heading and line of sample wording is in Spanish.
This is a complete programa fúnebre: the cover, the orden del servicio, the life story and the family’s agradecimiento are all written in Spanish, with accents and Spanish date style, so nothing needs translating before you start. Replace the sample name and details with your own.
The first is fully in Spanish. The trifold and booklet share its rose design with English sample text; use the glossary below to retitle them.
If you are adapting an English template, or checking a Spanish one, these are the usual equivalents:
Dates are written day first, with the month in lower case: 12 de mayo de 1946. Both family names are normally printed, and a married woman’s program may show her husband’s surname after de. Times use a. m. and p. m. with a space.
For a bilingual service, keep the cover and order of service in Spanish and add an English life story on the back panel, or the reverse. Two short texts read better than one panel set in two languages line by line.
The sample psalm is from the Reina-Valera 1909, which is in the public domain. Replace it with the translation your church uses.
