Which game table fits your room?
The sizes people actually buy, with the footprint and the room each one needs. Pool and bumper pool want cue clearance on every side; ping pong and shuffleboard want it at the ends. A dartboard wants a lane about 5 ft wide and 11 to 12 ft deep.

What table games can you play at home?
The big ones are pool (8-ball, 9-ball and the dozen games played on the same table), table shuffleboard, ping pong, foosball, air hockey and darts. How much room does a game table need?
For a pool table, the playing surface plus two cue lengths in each direction — about 17 × 13 ft 4 in for an 8-footer with standard 58-in cues, a foot less each way with 52-in cues. For a shuffleboard table, the table length plus 2 ft at each end as a minimum and 3 ft to be comfortable, by 6 to 7 ft wide, so a 12-ft table wants 16 to 18 ft of wall. What size game table is most popular for a house?
An 8-ft pool table (88 × 44 in playing surface) and a 12- or 14-ft shuffleboard table. Both are the sizes manufacturers sell most because they fit a normal basement or family room and still play like the real thing; 7-ft pool tables and 9-ft shuffleboards are the answer when the room is tight.
What size is a multi-game table, and does the room math change?
Most 3-in-1 and 4-in-1 combo tables are built on a 7-ft pool footprint — about 84 to 90 in long — with the air hockey or ping pong top sitting on the same cabinet, so plan the room as you would for a 7-ft pool table: the playing surface plus two cue lengths each way, roughly 16 × 13 ft. The ping pong top needs the same length but players stand further back, so give the ends 5 ft if you can.
Is table shuffleboard the same as the shuffleboard court?
No. The table game is played indoors with hand-thrown weights on a 9-to-22-ft waxed board; the court game is played outdoors on a 52 × 6 ft painted surface with cues and discs. The court pages live under Backyard Games and both sets of pages link to each other.
