How many long weekends does Hong Kong have in 2027?
Seven, counting Saturday and Sunday as the weekend: New Year's Day (Fri 1 Jan), Lunar New Year (Sat 6 – Tue 9 Feb, with the fourth day replacing the second, which is a Sunday), Easter (Fri 26 – Mon 29 Mar), Ching Ming (Mon 5 Apr), National Day (Fri 1 Oct), Chung Yeung (Fri 8 Oct) and Christmas (Sat 25 – Mon 27 Dec). The yearly calendar shows them all at a glance, which is the easiest way to plan annual leave around them.
Are these the general holidays or the statutory holidays?
The general holidays — the 17 days banks, schools and government offices close, as published on gov.hk. The statutory holidays that employers must give under the Employment Ordinance are a slightly different set of 15; our public holidays page lists both side by side.
Which year can I print?
Any year. 2026 and 2027 use the government's published lists. For a later year the calendar marks the holidays fixed by date or Easter and notes that the lunar holidays will be added once the government announces them, usually in May of the year before.
