Hong Kong calendars — FAQs
Where do the holiday dates come from?
From the government's own lists: the general holidays on gov.hk, published around May for the following year, and the statutory holidays from the Labour Department. The lunar holidays — Lunar New Year, Ching Ming, the Birthday of the Buddha, Tuen Ng, Mid-Autumn and Chung Yeung — are never estimated; a year that hasn't been published yet says so on the calendar.
General holidays or statutory holidays — which do the calendars mark?
The general holidays, the full set of 17 that banks, schools and government offices observe. The public holidays page lists the statutory holidays alongside, since that is the set your employer must give.
Are the Hong Kong calendars in Chinese?
Not yet — the calendars print in English, with the holiday names Hong Kong uses in English (Ching Ming, Tuen Ng, Chung Yeung).
Are these Hong Kong calendars free?
Yes — every calendar here is free, printable and fillable in any PDF viewer. No signup, no watermark.
