Frequently asked questions

Which holidays are marked across the year?
Every national public holiday — New Year's Day and the Day after, Waitangi Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, ANZAC Day, King's Birthday, Matariki, Labour Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day — plus the “Mondayised” observed day whenever one falls on a weekend. Choose a region and its Anniversary Day is added too.
Is Matariki included, and is the date correct?
Yes. Matariki (the Māori New Year) has been a public holiday since 2022. Its date follows the maramataka — the Māori lunar calendar — so it moves each year, always landing on a Friday. We use the official legislated dates rather than an estimate, so every year is correct.
Can I add my region's Anniversary Day?
Yes — pick your region (Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury, Otago, Southland, Taranaki, Hawke's Bay, Nelson, Marlborough, Westland, South Canterbury or the Chatham Islands) and its Anniversary Day is placed on the correct observed date across the year.
How do I turn it into a year planner?
Generate the 12-page PDF, type your recurring events into the date cells in any PDF viewer, then print and bind (staple, comb or ring). You get a personalised planner you can reprint any time.
What paper size does it use?
A4 and US Letter both print cleanly, one month per page, portrait.
Is it free?
Yes — completely free, no signup or watermark.
