Secret Santa Party Invitations

Secret Santa party invitations for the reveal night: Reveal Envelope with a wax-sealed envelope, and Gift Tag with a gift tag in western slab lettering whose badge reads Reveal Night. Both carry the gift limit on the back. Suited to an office, a lunch group or a studio crew that drew names weeks ago and now needs a date.

Hosting tip

Ask everyone to bring a hint, as the Gift Tag sample does ("Gift limit $20 · Bring a hint"). A short clue taped to each gift turns the reveal into a guessing game instead of a pile of name tags.

How it works

Details, wording, colors, download

Open any design above in the maker. Type the hosts, the date badge and the address; the back has room for the rule that makes the night work, whether that is a gift limit, a voting time or the sweater requirement. The wording ideas under the note field have a funny line or two ready.

Pick one of the three palettes drawn for the design, then download a 5 x 7 PDF (front and back), a two-per-sheet letter PDF for home printing, print-shop PNGs with bleed, 4 x 6 PNGs for a photo counter, a phone-sized PNG or a Word file. Frequently asked questions

When should a Secret Santa invitation go out?

Before the names are drawn, or with them. Guests need the gift limit and the reveal date before they shop, so the invitation is the first message, not the last.

Is Secret Santa the same as white elephant?

No. In Secret Santa each person buys for one assigned name and stays anonymous until the reveal. In white elephant the gifts are anonymous and get traded around. There's a separate White Elephant family for that.
