Modern Engagement Invitations

Three modern engagement invitations that let type do the work: Oversized Ampersand, a single large ampersand between the two names set in capitals; Editorial Photo, a left-aligned layout with a vertical rule (gold in its Black & Gold palette) and a framed photo window for an engagement photo, headed We're Engaged; and Fine-Line Arch, the names set inside a slim arch under Celebrating the Engagement of. Oversized Ampersand opens in Mauve & Silver, Editorial Photo in Sage & Ivory and Fine-Line Arch in Champagne & Blush; Black & Gold, Navy & Gold and Emerald & Gold are among the other palettes.

Hosting tip
For Editorial Photo, choose an engagement photo with plenty of sky or wall behind the two of you; the window is landscape (4:3), and a busy background fights the clean layout. Drag the photo in the maker until your faces sit in the upper third of the window.
How it works

Details, wording, colors, download

Open any design above in the maker. One of these designs has a photo window for an engagement photo: drop in a picture and drag it until it sits where you want it. Type the couple's names, the date and the place; on the monogram designs the initials are live text too. The back repeats the frame and sets the details in small capitals, with one line for the hosts, the dress code or what will be served. A smooth 110 lb ivory or cream card stock shows the fine lines best.

Pick one of the three palettes drawn for the design, then download a 5 x 7 PDF (front and back), a two-per-sheet letter PDF for home printing, print-shop PNGs with bleed, 4 x 6 PNGs for a photo counter, a phone-sized PNG to text or email, or a Word file. Frequently asked questions

Which design has a photo?
Editorial Photo, which has a framed landscape photo window. Oversized Ampersand and Fine-Line Arch are type only.
Can the names be in capitals?
Oversized Ampersand already sets them in capitals (CLARA WHITFIELD, SEBASTIAN MOORE); the others use a script or serif. Whatever you type keeps the design's style.
