Diamond Ring Engagement Invitations

Three engagement invitations drawn around the ring itself, finished like engraved stationery: Solitaire, a single engraved diamond ring framed by a laurel, under Celebrating the Engagement of; Two Bands, two interlocking rings in fine line above Engagement Party; and Oval Cut, an oval-cut stone with tiny facet lines in a gilded oval frame, very spare. The couple's names sit in a formal script and the date in letter-spaced capitals. Solitaire opens in Ivory & Gold, with Navy & Silver and Blush & Rose Gold as the other palettes; Oval Cut opens in Black & Gold. Each back repeats the frame with a small ring at the top and the details set in small caps.

Hosting tip
A ring card is the obvious place to slip in the proposal story, but keep it off the invitation itself. Tell it in a toast at the party instead, and use the back of the card for the practical line, as the samples do: Hosted by the Bennett and Carter families, or Cocktail attire, dinner to follow.
How it works

Details, wording, colors, download

Open any design above in the maker. Type the couple's names, the date and the place; on the monogram designs the initials are live text too. The back repeats the frame and sets the details in small capitals, with one line for the hosts, the dress code or what will be served. A smooth 110 lb ivory or cream card stock shows the fine lines best.

Pick one of the three palettes drawn for the design, then download a 5 x 7 PDF (front and back), a two-per-sheet letter PDF for home printing, print-shop PNGs with bleed, 4 x 6 PNGs for a photo counter, a phone-sized PNG to text or email, or a Word file. For more lines to put on the card, see the engagement party invitation wording ideas and the etiquette guide.

Frequently asked questions

Do these print in real gold?
Gold is printed as a warm gold-toned ink, not foil. Solitaire's Ivory & Gold, Two Bands' Emerald & Gold and Navy & Gold, and Oval Cut's Black & Gold and Ivory & Gold carry it; Blush & Rose Gold prints a coppery pink and Navy & Silver and Mauve & Silver a cool gray.
Which ring design is the most understated?
Oval Cut: a single oval stone in an oval frame with a lot of open paper around it, headed In Celebration Of. Two Bands is the one to choose if you'd rather show the pair of rings than the diamond.
Can the couple's names go on two lines?
Yes. The samples set each name on its own line, such as Olivia Bennett over & James Carter. Type them the same way, or on one line if the names are short.
