Masquerade New Year's Eve Invitations

Masquerade New Year's Eve invitations for a masked ball: Midnight Mask with a feathered mask in plum and gold over a filigree rule, Filigree Frame with a mask on a stick inside filigree corners, and Venetian Pair with two masks and a gold ribbon. Each back has a line for the mask rule, required or provided. Type the hosts, the manor or the ballroom, and print on card stock.

Hosting tip
Plan an unmasking at midnight and say so on the back note, with a line like "Masks on until the countdown". It gives the ball a moment of its own, and guests who dislike wearing a mask all night know there's an end to it.
How it works

Details, wording, colors, download

Open any design above in the maker. Type your names or your host as it should read on a formal card, the date badge and the venue; the back carries the details again with one line for the dress code, a midnight toast or, for a wedding, the reception. Gold and deco designs keep their look in every palette, all printed on light paper.

Pick one of the three palettes drawn for the design, then download a 5 x 7 PDF (front and back), a two-per-sheet letter PDF for home printing, print-shop PNGs with bleed, 4 x 6 PNGs for a photo counter, a phone-sized PNG or a Word file. For more lines to put on the card, see the New Year’s invitation wording ideas.

Frequently asked questions

Should the invitation say masks are required or provided?
Either, as long as it says one. The samples cover both: Midnight Mask reads "Masks provided at the door" and Venetian Pair reads "Masks required at the door". Even if masks are required, keep a few spares by the door.
What do guests wear with a mask?
Whatever the card says. Filigree Frame pairs the masks with black tie ("Masks required · Black tie"), while Venetian Pair leaves dress open. A mask on a stick, like the one drawn on Filigree Frame, is the easy choice for guests who wear glasses.
