Wedding Details Cards and Invitation Inserts
A details card carries what would crowd the invitation: where to stay, how to get there, what to wear and where to find your website. Pick one of 75 designs, replace the sample sections with your own, and print it at 4.25 x 5.5 to tuck in with the invitation.

What to include on a wedding details card
Ask what a guest needs to know that the invitation doesn’t tell them, and stop there. Two or three lines to a section reads better than a full page of instructions, and anything longer belongs on your website.
- The reception, if it’s somewhere other than the ceremony.
- Where to stay. The hotel, its phone number, the name on the room block and the date it ends.
- Getting there. Parking, shuttles, and directions if the venue is hard to find.
- What to wear, along with anything the setting calls for, such as flat shoes on a lawn.
- Your wedding website, for everything that didn’t fit, including the registry.
Leave out the reply date and the reply details, which belong on the RSVP card. The other thing to leave off is a list of gifts.
Details card and insert wording
Mix and match these. Each one is a section you can type into the maker, where the headings and the text have their own boxes.

Two hotels
Give a choice of prices when you can, and the date the room block ends, so nobody calls after the rate is gone.

Gifts
Many people still prefer to keep the registry off the printed suite and on the website. Pointing to the website is the safest choice.
The names, hotels and phone numbers here are invented. Phone numbers in the 555 range are placeholders, so swap in the real ones before you print.
One details card or several inserts?
One card is enough for most weddings. It costs less, adds less weight, and there’s no second slip of paper to lose. Separate inserts make sense when each has a different audience, such as a welcome dinner for the wedding party, or travel details that only out-of-town guests will need.
Need more than one? Print the design twice with different wording: download one version, change the lines, then download again. A destination wedding usually warrants the extra card, and the destination and themed designs leave room for travel notes.
Wedding invitation insert sizes
Our details cards are 4.25 x 5.5 inches, with two to a Letter or A4 sheet. That sits neatly in front of a 5 x 7 invitation inside an A7 envelope, and it’s larger than the 3.5 x 5 reply card, so the stack steps down in size and every card can be seen when the envelope is opened. Print on card stock or a heavy text weight, and cut on the crop marks.
The card has a printed back in the design’s pattern. In the maker, you’ll find it on the Details Card tab, where you can also download it alone or in the whole suite. Maps, pockets and vellum aren’t something the maker does, but a link on your website can do a map’s job.
