Printing

How to print a wedding suite at home

The whole-suite PDF is the home route. Each piece gets a sheet of fronts followed by a sheet of backs: two invitations, save the dates or details cards on a sheet, and four RSVP cards. Print at 100% (actual size, not “fit to page”), two-sided, flipping on the edge you picked in the maker; most printers flip on the long edge unless told otherwise. Cut on the crop marks. Print one sheet first and hold it to a window to check that the backs line up.

Every design is drawn on light paper with the color in the linework and the type, so a stack of a hundred prints without draining the cartridge, and gold and silver print as toned ink rather than foil. A smooth 80 to 110 lb cover stock in white, ivory or cream shows fine lines best. On a design with a tinted background you can switch the background off and print on colored card stock instead.

For a print shop or an online printer, send the print shop PNGs: each is the finished card plus an eighth-inch bleed at 300 dpi. The 5 x 7 cards fit an A7 envelope, the details card an A2, and the 3.5 x 5 RSVP card a 4-bar envelope, or it can mail on its own as a postcard.

Frequently asked questions

Is the wedding invitation maker free?
Yes. Every design and every download, the whole suite included, is free, with no watermark, no account and no email address.
What comes in a suite?
A 5 x 7 invitation and a 5 x 7 save the date, a 3.5 x 5 RSVP card that mails as a postcard, and a 4.25 x 5.5 details card for accommodations and your website, all front and back. The Mexican and Filipino designs add a sponsors card for the padrinos or the entourage.
Do I have to type our names on every card?
No. Type both names, the date and time, the venue and the city once. Every card fills in, in its own wording: the formal designs spell out the date, the save the date uses first names, and the reply-by date stays four weeks before the wedding.
Can I put our wedding website on it?
Yes. Paste the link and it prints as a QR code on the save the date, which phone cameras on iPhone and Android open without an app. Leave it empty and the code comes off the card.
How do I print them at home?
Download the whole suite on Letter or A4 paper and print at 100% (actual size), two-sided, flipping on the edge you chose in the maker. Each sheet has crop marks: two invitations, save the dates or details cards per sheet, four RSVP cards.
Can I print on colored card stock?
Yes. On designs with a tinted background, tick Remove the background color: the card stock supplies the color and the design and text still print.
