Swimming Card Templates

Free printable swim team card templates for USA Swimming, summer-league rec teams, school, and Masters. Position field handles the stroke + distance specialty ("50 Free", "200 IM", "100 Fly / 200 Back") plus relay legs. 2.5″ × 3.5″ trading-card size, 3.5″ × 5″ PR keepsake, 9-up team sheets.

Swim team is the sport with the longest banquet season — championship meets in March, championship meets in July, championship meets in November, and a banquet for each. The cards live in those banquets. Print the Enlarged 3.5″ × 5″ for the senior who's been with the program since age 6. Print the Team 9-up for the 8-and-under squad's parent gift. Print Normal-size cards for the relay teams, with each leg's split time in the position field.

Position field accepts stroke + distance ("50 Free / 22.4", "200 IM / 2:08.5", "100 Fly / 56.4"), event + PR, or just relay leg ("4×100 Free Anchor"). The Team field is freeform — "Stingrays Summer League", "Eagles Aquatic Club", "Lincoln Varsity Boys".

Banquet rotation

Three banquets, three card runs

USA Swimming clubs run on a multi-banquet calendar — short course, long course, summer rec. Each banquet calls for a slightly different card run:

  • Short-course banquet (March). 9-up team sheet for each age group. Senior cards (Enlarged 3.5×5) for graduating high-school swimmers. PRs from the Sectional or Junior National meet in the position field.
  • Long-course banquet (August). Senior cards for swimmers heading to college that fall. Their year's USA Swimming PR sheet — short and long course — printed on the back if you re-feed the printer. Many parents keep these for years.
  • Summer-rec banquet (early August). 8-and-under squad gets the Team 9-up; older groups get Normal-size for the trophy ceremony. Cards become the kid's first "trading card" for many summer-league families.
  • Senior-night dual meet. Most school programs do a senior-night home dual (often January or early February). Frame the Enlarged for each senior; present at the meet between events.
  • Relay milestones. When a relay team finally drops below the historical-best for the club, print a Team-sheet of just those four swimmers with the new club record in the position field. Hangs in the pool deck for the next decade.

Frequently asked questions

What goes in the Position field for a swim card?
Stroke + distance, often with the PR. "50 Free / 23.4", "100 Back / 1:02.8", "200 IM / 2:14.5". Most swimmers have 2-3 main events; multi-event swimmers write something like "50/100 Free / 200 IM". Senior banquet cards often list the swimmer's all-time best PR for the keepsake.
Can I do a relay card?
Yes — relays are common card subjects. The Team 9-up sheet fits a relay team's individual cards (4 swimmers + alternates) on a single page with each leg's split time in the position field ("Lead-Off / 23.1", "Anchor / 22.4"). Or print one Enlarged card with all four swimmers' names in the player line and the relay total time in the position.
Are these for USA Swimming, summer league, and school?
All three. USA Swimming clubs print for Sectionals / Regionals / Junior Nationals banquets. Summer rec leagues print for the end-of-season pizza party. School teams print for senior night at the conference championship. Same template, different team field.
What's the best photo for a swim card?
Two options work best. Pre-race ready-room or behind-the-blocks: cap on, suit on, intense focus, no goggles yet. Or post-race on the wall: cap off, smile, hand on the lane line. Action shots mid-stroke are hard at the small card size — the swimmer's face is usually underwater. Save action shots for the Enlarged 3.5×5 size where you have room.

A scene from senior night
Picture a high school swim team's senior night. Eight seniors line up on the pool deck before the first event — each one introduced with a poster board and a stack of cards their parents printed the week before. The Enlarged 3.5 × 5 size goes on the poster; the Normal 4-up sheet gets handed out to teammates and family. Best-time field carries the season PR.
