Funeral Program and Card Maker
Make all four pieces in one place: the program, memorial cards, prayer cards and thank-you cards. Enter the details once. Choose a design, add a photo and drag and zoom it until the face sits where you want it inside the frame, then type the name and dates. They carry to every piece, so the program and all three cards match, and each one updates as you type. Download a fillable PDF or a Word file, which also opens in Google Docs, and keep editing the wording there after you download.

Getting the photo right
Any clear photo works, including one taken from a group: zoom in until the person you want fills the frame, then drag to place the face. The outline shows exactly what will print; everything outside it is cut away. A face about a third of the way down the frame usually looks most natural.
Choose the sharpest photo you have, not the most recent. A photo that looks fine on a phone can print soft at this size once it has been zoomed in a long way, so if the face looks blurred in the preview, try a different picture. Photos from an iPhone are sometimes saved in a format some browsers cannot open; if yours will not load, save it as a JPEG first.
What each piece is for
- The program is handed to guests as they arrive: cover, order of service, life story and thanks. Bifold, trifold or one page.
- Memorial cards are the keepsake: photo, name, dates and a short verse, four to a sheet, handed out at the service or tucked into a thank-you note.
- Prayer cards are wallet-sized, eight to a sheet: the photo on the front and a prayer, psalm or poem on the back.
- Thank-you cards are for afterward: a short message from the family, four to a sheet, with room to add a line by hand. They carry no photo.
Make the program first. When you switch to the cards, the design, the photo and the name and dates are already filled in.
Printing and editing the files
- PDF: open it in Acrobat, Preview, Chrome or Edge to fix a typo; every line of wording can still be typed into, and on the card sheets one change updates every card.
- Word: the wording is ordinary editable text. The photo is one picture with its frame, so to change the photo, come back here and make the file again.
- Google Docs: upload the Word file to Google Drive and open it with Google Docs. The framed photo comes with it.
Cards print best on light cardstock. Proofread the name and both dates before printing more than one copy, and have someone else read them too.
