Engagement Ceremony Invitations: Indian, African & More

Eleven invitations for engagement ceremonies hosted by the families: an Indian ring ceremony with a marigold toran and mandala, a sagai medallion and a jharokha arch with diyas and a photo window, a roka card in mehndi-style linework and a sangeet with a dhol and marigold garlands, two modern South Asian designs (a lotus arch with a photo window and a peacock feather), two Nigerian traditional engagement designs (adire-inspired tiles and a cowrie-shell frame for an introduction and engagement), and two arabesque designs with a Moorish arch and lanterns or a geometric star. The cards are ivory paper with red and gold, marigold, rani pink, peacock or emerald linework, so a stack prints at home, and they carry no deities, scripture or non-Latin script.

Frequently asked questions

Can the invitation come from both families?
Yes, that is how these are set up: the label reads TOGETHER WITH THEIR FAMILIES or JOIN OUR FAMILIES FOR THE, and the back note names the hosts, such as "Hosted by the Sharma and Mehta families".
Can I add Hindi, Telugu or Arabic text?
The maker's fonts are Latin script, so the cards are designed in English. Many families print the English card and add a line in their own language by hand, or send a separate message.
Can I send it on WhatsApp?
Yes. Every design downloads as a phone-sized PNG, the easiest way to share an invitation on WhatsApp, by text or by email.
