Church Wedding Invitations

Two suites drawn from church architecture, for a ceremony in a chapel or cathedral. Tracery Window draws a Gothic tracery window with climbing roses, opens in Dusty Blue, and puts a single engraved quatrefoil on the back; Chapel Doors draws chapel doors and a rose window in Silver & Navy, with small rosettes and hinge scrolls on the back. Both samples use the honour of your presence, and Chapel Doors sets a morning ceremony "at eleven o'clock in the morning," with a "Luncheon reception to follow."

Planning tip
When the reception is at another address, name it on the invitation's last line and put the transfer on the details card, as Tracery Window does: "Reception to follow at Thornfield Hall" and a shuttle that "leaves the chapel / for the hall at three."
How it works

Names, wording, colors, download

Open a design above in the maker. Type both full names, the date and time, the venue and the city once; the formal cards spell the date out (Saturday, the twelfth of June) and the save the date, RSVP card and details card fill in from the same words. Pick a hosting wording if your parents are hosting, and print on a smooth ivory or cream cover stock.

Choose one of the three palettes drawn for the design, then download the whole suite as Letter or A4 sheets with crop marks, any single card as a PDF, print-shop PNGs with bleed, a Word file, or a phone-sized picture of the invitation to text. For the words, see the wedding invitation wording guide; for envelopes and timing, the wedding invitation etiquette guide.

Frequently asked questions

What wording suits a ceremony in a church?
Many couples use "the honour of your presence" for a house of worship and "the pleasure of your company" elsewhere. The who-is-hosting picker has a house-of-worship option that sets the formal phrasing for you, and both designs here use honour in their samples.
Do these designs show a cross or other religious symbol?
The drawings are architectural: tracery, climbing roses, a quatrefoil, chapel doors and a rose window. If you want faith-specific lines on the card, the Cultures & Faiths designs include ceremonial lines you can switch on.
