Engraved Crest Wedding Invitations

Three engraved-look suites for a formal wedding. Engraved Crest places the couple's initials in a laurel wreath crest and opens in Ivory & Gold; Lily Engraved runs lily of the valley and a bow inside an engraved border, in Navy & Silver; Double Rule Crest pairs a myrtle crest with double rules, in Black & White. The wording is traditional, "request the honour of your presence / at the marriage of their daughter," with the date written out: "Saturday, the twelfth of June / two thousand twenty-seven."

Planning tip
Spelled-out dates are the convention on engraved wording, so keep the reply card in the same voice: the samples ask for an answer "by the fifteenth of May," never 5/15.
How it works

Names, wording, colors, download

Open a design above in the maker. Type both full names, the date and time, the venue and the city once; the formal cards spell the date out (Saturday, the twelfth of June) and the save the date, RSVP card and details card fill in from the same words. Pick a hosting wording if your parents are hosting, and print on a smooth ivory or cream cover stock.

Choose one of the three palettes drawn for the design, then download the whole suite as Letter or A4 sheets with crop marks, any single card as a PDF, print-shop PNGs with bleed, a Word file, or a phone-sized picture of the invitation to text. For the words, see the wedding invitation wording guide; for envelopes and timing, the wedding invitation etiquette guide.

Frequently asked questions

Should it say honour or pleasure?
Many couples use "the honour of your presence" when the ceremony is in a house of worship and "the pleasure of your company" for other venues. Engraved Crest and Double Rule Crest use honour in their samples; Lily Engraved uses pleasure. The British-style spelling with a u is the traditional choice on formal American invitations.
Can both sets of parents be named as hosts?
Yes. The who-is-hosting picker includes both sets of parents, the bride's parents, and in memory of a parent. Lily Engraved's sample shows the two-family form: MR. AND MRS. ROBERT HALE and DR. AND MRS. SAMUEL ADEBAYO "request the pleasure of your company / at the marriage of their children."
Does the crest print in real gold?
Gold prints as a gold-toned ink on light paper, not foil. For foil, download the print-shop PNG with bleed and take it to a printer that offers foil stamping.
