Initials & Hairline Rule Maker

The quietest personal monogram there is: your three initials tracked wide across the top of the page, a hairline rule beneath, name and address tucked in below. Set the initials, typeface, ink, and size and watch the page update as you go.

Letterspacing is the whole design. Three initials set tight read as an abbreviation; the same three set wide, with a rule under them, read as stationery. That is why the tracking here is generous and the rule runs the full width of the text column — the lockup is meant to sit quietly at the top of a personal letter, not announce itself.

Common questions

What order do the initials go in?

First, middle, last — read straight across. That is the plain reading order for a letterspaced lockup, and it differs from a traditional stacked or interlocking monogram, where the surname initial sits larger in the middle.

Can I use two initials instead of three?

Yes — leave a box empty and the remaining initials close up with the same letterspacing and rule.

Can I still edit the name and address?

Yes. Only the initials and rule are artwork — your full name, the address line, and the letter body stay editable text in both Word and Google Docs.
