Sikh Wedding Invitations (Anand Karaj)

The Anand Karaj design borders the card with marigolds and florals and turns the invitation over to a marigold and leaf pattern. It opens in Saffron & Navy, with Ivory & Gold and Dusty Blue as the other palettes. The sample invites guests "at the Anand Karaj of their daughter" at nine in the morning, and the events card lists Maiyan, Jaggo, Milni, the Anand Karaj and the reception, closing with a note that guests are kindly requested to cover their heads in the Gurdwara.

Planning tip
Morning ceremonies are common for an Anand Karaj, so give the Milni time on the events card as well; guests who arrive for the ceremony time alone may miss it.
How it works

Names, wording, colors, download

Open a design above in the maker. Type both names, the date and time, the venue and the city once, and the suite fills in. Ceremonial lines on these designs are switched on or off in the maker and print exactly as written; bilingual backs, events cards and sponsors cards are edited line by line.

Choose one of the three palettes drawn for the design, then download the whole suite as Letter or A4 sheets with crop marks, any single card as a PDF, print-shop PNGs with bleed, a Word file, or a phone-sized picture of the invitation to text. For the words, see the wedding invitation wording guide; for envelopes and timing, the wedding invitation etiquette guide.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add Ik Onkar to the top of the card?
Yes. The ੴ symbol is an optional line you can switch on or off; it starts switched off and prints exactly as written. The blessing line beneath it, "With the blessings of Waheguru" in the sample, is ordinary text you can edit.
Can I keep the head-covering note?
Yes, it prints at the foot of the events card and you can edit or remove it. Many couples include it so guests who have not been to a Gurdwara come prepared.
