What the daily medium sudoku asks of you
Medium is the line most people settle on, and the reason is consistency: every edition contains exactly one kind of step beyond scanning. Singles take you most of the way, then somewhere a digit inside a box is confined to a single row or column, you erase it from the rest of that line, and the singles start again. Twenty to thirty minutes, usually no pencil marks beyond one box.
That is different from a newspaper's medium, which is often graded by give-away count and swings from a singles walk to a hidden hard. Here the technique is the rule. If a week of Medium feels routine, the Hard line introduces the X-Wing family; if it feels like a fight, the Easy line builds scanning speed first.
