Marketing Cover Letter Templates & Example
A marketing cover letter is itself a piece of marketing, and hiring managers grade it that way: is it specific, is it measured, and does it have an idea in it. The letter inside these templates has all three — your channel and a numeric result, a second result showing range, the tools you work in, and one concrete idea for the company's marketing. Banner sunrise, twotone ruby, or monogram berry.
Pick a letterhead with some energy; the letter inside has an idea.
Banner in sunrise for brand and social roles, Twotone in ruby for growth and demand generation, Monogram in berry for marketing manager and director applications.

What a marketing cover letter should say.
Marketing leaders can tell within a paragraph whether a candidate thinks in results. The letter gives them four signals:
- A channel and a number. ’Built the content program to 120,000 monthly organic visits, 31% of inbound pipeline.’ Channel, metric, business outcome.
- Range. A second result from a different channel — paid, email, lifecycle, events — so you read as a marketer, not a specialist in one tactic.
- Tools, by name. HubSpot, Salesforce, GA4, Semrush, Figma, Meta Ads — one sentence, the posting’s tools first.
- An idea. One concrete opportunity you see in their marketing. It’s the line that gets you the interview, and almost nobody writes it.
Entry-level marketer? Campus organizations, internships, and a personal project with real numbers fill the result paragraphs — the entry-level letter shows the framing. PR and communications candidates have their own letter; designers the design letter. Pair with a marketing resume.
Fill it in.
- Open a template in Google Docs or download the Word file.
- Fill the [brackets]: channel and result, a second result, tools, and the one idea about their marketing.
- Trim to one page, export a PDF, and attach — this letter is a work sample.
- Bracket count aside, read it once as the CMO would: is there an idea in it?
