What principals read first

What goes on an elementary teacher resume.

An elementary resume is judged on the classroom, not the subject. The layout above puts the classroom evidence where committees look for it:

  • License and grade band, by your name. ’K–6 Elementary Education · Reading Endorsement’ — the first thing screened, so it’s the first thing read.
  • Growth numbers. Reading levels moved, benchmark scores, percent at grade level by spring. One or two real numbers beat a paragraph of philosophy.
  • The management vocabulary. Differentiated instruction, guided reading groups, positive behavior supports, restorative practices, family communication — named as practices you run, not adjectives.
  • Grade-specific detail. Kindergarten and first grade hire for early literacy and routines; fourth and fifth for content depth and test readiness. Say which grades and what you built there.

What should a first-grade or kindergarten teacher resume emphasize?
