Free Scrum Master Resume Templates

Free, ATS-friendly Scrum Master resume templates in Microsoft Word and Google Docs — each leading with a different Agile-native visual: a Kanban board, a SAFe dark-band header, a sprint-ceremonies cycle, and a sprint burndown chart. Across four levels — scrum master, senior/SAFe scrum master, agile coach, and delivery-focused scrum master — every template foregrounds what Agile hiring screens for: certifications (CSM, PSM, SAFe, PMI-ACP), ceremony facilitation, impediment removal, servant leadership, tooling (Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence), and flow metrics (velocity, predictability). Whether you're breaking in with a fresh CSM, changing careers, or scaling Agile across teams, pick a layout and color and fill in your sprints.

The templates

Four Agile-native designs, each in three colors.

A Kanban board for scrum masters, a bold dark-band header for senior/SAFe roles, a sprint-ceremonies cycle for agile coaches, and a burndown chart for delivery-focused scrum masters. Every one opens in Word or Google Docs, holds on one page, and is built to be ATS-friendly — with your certifications, ceremonies, and metrics front and center.

Kanban Board — Blue
Scrum master layout with a To Do / In Progress / Done board as the hero — a sprint at a glance. Foregrounds ceremony facilitation, impediment removal, and CSM/PSM, with Jira and servant leadership.
Kanban Board — Teal
The Kanban-board scrum master design in teal — the same sprint board, ceremonies, and velocity/predictability metrics in a cooler palette.
Kanban Board — Indigo
The Kanban-board layout in indigo — a clean board-as-hero format for certified scrum masters facilitating Scrum for software teams.
Senior / SAFe — Forest
A bold dark-band header for senior and SAFe scrum masters scaling Agile across teams — PI Planning, Agile Release Trains, cross-team dependencies, and SAFe SSM / PSM II / PMI-ACP.
Senior / SAFe — Navy
The senior/SAFe scrum master design with a navy header band — scaling Agile, PI Planning, and predictable velocity across an Agile Release Train.
Senior / SAFe — Plum
The senior/SAFe layout with a plum header band — a confident, executive-leaning take for scaled-Agile scrum masters and SAFe practitioners.
Agile Coach — Violet
An agile coach layout with a sprint-ceremonies cycle (Plan → Daily → Review → Retro ↺) as the hero. For enterprise coaches growing teams, scrum masters, and leaders across an org.
Agile Coach — Teal
The agile-coach ceremonies-cycle design in teal — Agile transformation, coaching, and the cadence and metrics that make delivery flow.
Agile Coach — Blue
The agile-coach layout in blue — the sprint-cadence loop with a coaching-toolkit footer for senior scrum masters stepping up to coach.
Delivery — Orange
A delivery-focused scrum master layout with a sprint burndown chart as the hero. For scrum masters who protect the sprint goal and use flow metrics to spot risk early and finish what they commit to.
Delivery — Teal
The delivery-scrum-master burndown design in teal — commitment-to-completion, cycle-time data, and flow metrics for predictable delivery.
Delivery — Rose
The delivery layout in rose — a burndown-chart hero for pragmatic, transparent scrum masters relentlessly focused on done.
What to include

What goes on a scrum master resume.

Agile hiring screens hard on certifications and on whether you actually run the process. Put the things a hiring manager and the ATS look for where they’ll be seen — which is exactly what these templates do:

  • Certifications, above the fold. CSM, PSM I/II, SAFe SSM, or PMI-ACP — by your name or in a dedicated section, with the issuing body. Most scrum master postings require one.
  • The ceremonies you facilitate. Sprint planning, daily standup, sprint review, retrospective, and backlog refinement — plus servant leadership and removing impediments. This is the core of the role.
  • Flow metrics & tools. Velocity, predictability, burndown, and commitment-to-completion — with Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps. Numbers prove you make delivery measurable.
  • Scale, if you have it. SAFe, PI Planning, Agile Release Trains, and Scrum of Scrums for senior and coach roles — with the number of teams you coordinated.

Which role? A scrum master facilitates one team; an agile coach drives transformation across many. If you own scope, budget, and timeline rather than the process, the project manager templates fit better; for requirements and delivery analysis, see business analyst.

Make it yours

Fill it in and apply.

  1. Click Open in Google Docs to copy it into your Drive, or Download Word for the .docx.
  2. Put your certifications (CSM, PSM, SAFe) up top and fill the metrics with your real numbers — velocity, predictability, MTTR-style flow data.
  3. Mirror the job posting’s keywords exactly — Scrum, ceremonies, impediments, Jira, velocity, SAFe — so the ATS scores you.
  4. Keep it to one page; export a PDF to send and a Word copy for ATS portals.
Common questions

Scrum master resume FAQ

How do I write a scrum master resume with no experience?
Lead with your CSM or PSM certification and a skills-forward summary, then reframe transferable work — facilitation, coordination, leading meetings — into Agile language (standups, retrospectives, removing blockers). Add any Agile coursework, side projects, or volunteer team leadership to fill the experience gap.
How do I make a career change to a scrum master role on my resume?
Use a combination format that puts an Agile skills section and certifications up top, then map your prior role (project coordinator, business analyst, developer, team lead) to Scrum responsibilities. Open with a summary that names the transition and your CSM/PSM credential explicitly.
Which scrum master certifications should I list on my resume, and where?
List CSM (Scrum Alliance), PSM I/II (Scrum.org), SAFe (SSM/SASM), or PMI-ACP near the top — in a dedicated Certifications section or beside your name — with the issuing body and date. About two-thirds of scrum master job posts require a certification, so it should be visible above the fold.
What's the difference between a scrum master, agile coach, project manager, and product owner on a resume?
A scrum master facilitates one team's Scrum process; an agile coach drives Agile transformation across many teams or the org; a project manager owns scope, budget, and timeline; a product owner owns the backlog and what gets built. Match your bullet points and keywords to the exact role so an ATS and recruiter read you as the right fit.
How do I show SAFe and scaled Agile experience on a scrum master resume?
Name the framework (SAFe, LeSS) and the artifacts: PI planning, Agile Release Trains (ARTs), Scrum of Scrums, system demos, and Inspect & Adapt. Quantify the scale — number of teams/ARTs coordinated and delivery-speed or time-to-market gains.
How do I make a scrum master resume ATS-friendly?
Use a single-column-friendly reverse-chronological layout with standard headings (Summary, Experience, Skills, Certifications), the exact title "Scrum Master," and keywords pulled from the job post (Scrum, Jira, velocity, CSM). Export as .docx or PDF, keep it to one page, and avoid heavy graphics that ATS parsers choke on.
