Why decorated

A puzzle that reads as a treat, not a worksheet

A plain grid says homework. A grid with balloons over it says party, and a child who would push away the first will pick up the second. The word SUDOKU is spelled by the motif, six gumballs, six balloons or six candy buttons, so the page looks made for kids rather than photocopied from a workbook. The puzzle underneath is unchanged: the same single-solution, scanning-only 4×4 or 6×6 the plain kids generator makes.

The three designs share the palette of the fun-designs bingo cards, so a party can run both on matching paper. For a second decorated set in rainbow colours, the rainbow sudoku page wraps the same puzzle in three rainbow cards.

Which fun design is best for a birthday party?
Balloons, printed at 6×6 Easy one per page, is the party-table sheet; Gumball Pop suits a younger group on the 4×4. Candy Stripe is the one that matches a sweet-themed goody bag. All three share the palette of the fun-designs bingo cards on this site.
Do the decorations make the puzzle harder to read?
No. The art sits around the grid, never behind it; the grid itself is white with black rules and large digits. A six-year-old reads it as easily as the plain version.
Will the bright colours use a lot of ink?
Gumball Pop and Balloons have solid colour backgrounds, so for a class set the plain kids generator is the cheaper print. Candy Stripe is the lightest of the three. All print acceptably in greyscale.
Can I get the fun designs at four per page?
The decorated sheets print one or two per page so the art has room. For four per page, print the same puzzles from the plain kids generator and use one decorated sheet as the cover.
Are these the same puzzles as the plain kids generator?
Yes. Same engine, same four tiers, same single-solution check and same scanning-only guarantee on the 4×4 and 6×6. The frame is the only difference, and the puzzle in the preview is puzzle #1 of the PDF.
