Tractor Bill of Sale Form

Farm iron rarely comes with a title, so the paper you write is the paper that counts. Serial number, hours, implements included, and the price — with two photos — in a fillable AS-IS PDF.

A tractor bill of sale records the private sale of a farm or garden tractor — serial number, hours, implements included, and price. Because most states issue no tractor titles, this signed document is often the only proof of ownership the machine will ever have.

Often the only paper trail there is.

Most states don’t issue titles for tractors, so the bill of sale is frequently the only document proving the machine changed hands. That makes getting the serial number right (check the frame or engine plate) and recording the hour-meter reading worth the extra minute. Photos of the tractor — and of the serial-number plate itself — give the record real weight.

Implements and attachments (loader, mower deck, blade, wagon) sold with the tractor belong in the additional-terms box, each with its own serial number if it has one.
Farm-sale notes

From one field to the next.

Tractor money deserves tractor care: for a four- or five-figure cash sale, meet at the buyer’s bank so the cashier’s check is verified before the keys change pockets — or use a wire and wait for it to land. The signed bill of sale then closes the loop with the price both sides just watched move.

If a loader, mower deck, or blade goes with the tractor, remember the loader usually has its own serial plate — list it separately so the implement’s ownership is as documented as the tractor’s. Not legal advice — a few states title or register larger farm equipment; check local rules.
