A jet ski bill of sale records a personal watercraft sale — the hull ID (HIN) from the transom, engine hours, price, and signatures. States register PWCs like boats, so the buyer presents it at registration; the seller files a copy as their exit record.

Registered like a boat, sized like a bike.

Most states register personal watercraft the same way they register motorboats, so the number that matters is the hull identification number (HIN) stamped on the transom — copy it exactly, character for character. Note the engine hours from the gauge, and if the trailer rides along with the deal, list it (with its own VIN) in the additional-terms box.

Selling a full-size boat instead? Use the boat bill of sale — same idea, with hull and motor detail lines.
Dock-side details

Sold in October, launched in May.

Most personal watercraft change hands out of season, winterized and shrink-wrapped — which means the buyer often can’t water-test before paying. That gap is exactly what the AS-IS clause and your two photos are for: they freeze the condition and the deal on the day it happened, months before the first launch.

One number trap to avoid: the large registration digits painted on the hull are the state’s numbers, not the craft’s identity. The HIN on the transom is what belongs on this form — registration numbers stay behind when ownership changes. Not legal advice — watercraft registration rules are state-specific.
